Compiled by “The British Ambassador Of Soul,” David Nathan, this selection is drawn from the vaults of Warner-owned labels: Atco, Atlantic, Calla, Cotillion, Elektra, Reprise, Warner Bros. and more.  

Alongside rarities there are huge hits including Aretha’s ‘Rock Steady’, Chaka Khan’s ‘I’m Every Woman’, Candi Staton’s ‘Young Hearts Run Free’ and Rose Royce’s ‘Wishing On A Star’. There are Northern Soul gems such as Jackie Moore’s ‘Both Ends Against The Middle’, The  Pointer Sisters’ ‘Send Him Back’, Sister Sledge’s ‘Love Don’t You Go Through No Changes On Me’ and Barbara Lynn’s ‘Take Your Love And Run’; Funky dancefloor workouts including Gwen McCrae’s ‘Keep The Fire Burning’ and Dee Dee Bridgewater’s ‘Bad For Me’.  

Most of all, the set features a whole lot of passionate soul and provides a deep dive into the soul genre, picking some of the greatest performances by both legendary and underrated singers.
