FREDA PAYNE - SoulMusic Hall Of Fame (Triple) Inductee

Freda Payne Award

With an exceptionally impressive list of musical accomplishments that began in 1963 with the release of her 1st full jazz album ("After The Lights Go Down Low And Much More!!!") at the age of 21 and continues to 2021 with "Let There Be Love," a traditional jazz set (which includes duets with the legendary Johnny Mathis, with Kenny Lattimore and with Kurt Elling). Known globally for her pop/soul classic, 1970's "Band Of Gold," the Detroit-born songstress has recorded some 21 albums over the years.  As a mark of her longevity and tenure, Freda joins a very select group of artists who have received multiple inductions into The SoulMusic Hall Of Fame since its inception in 2012.
