For more than 50 years, the music of War has been a quintessential part of West Coast rock and soul in America. If you're in California this weekend, you've got a chance to see them strut their stuff for free.

War will throw a half-century celebration this Saturday, Oct. 30 from 12-5 p.m.at Windward Plaza on the Venice Beach boardwalk. In addition to a live performance by the band at 3 p.m., activities include a live mural painting, a low rider car show, and local food and entertainment on site.
