Produced by award-winning music man Preston Glass, who co-wrote this beautiful ballad with Philip and Pamela Phillips Oland, this original ‘lost gem’ from 1989 is being released for the first time and represents a reunion of collaboration between Philip and Preston, who produced the song “System of Survival” from EW&F’s 1987 Touch the World album as well as “The Pledge,” a duet between Philip and Anita Pointer that appeared on Anita’s 1987 album Love For What It Is.
Philip’s vocal style is instantly recognizable and while it’s been 36 years since it was recorded at famed Capitol Records’ studios in Los Angeles, “All About Us” has a truly timeless quality that will no doubt appeal to the many music lovers who have been listening to Philip’s solo recordings and his enduring work with Earth, Wind & Fire over the decades.
