We found a cure for your listening blues: the latest episode of the My Classic Soul podcast! This week, our own David Nathan is taking a deep dive on Ashford & Simpson’s The Warner Brothers Years: Hits, Rarities & Remixes.
The husband-and-wife soul duo helped define the ’60s with a string of classic compositions at the Motown label like Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” “Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing” and “You’re All I Need to Get By” as well as Diana Ross’ “Reach Out and Touch (Somebody’s Hand).”

From there, the pair spent the ’70s establishing themselves as terrific performers in their own right, making hits out of “One More Try,” “Don’t Cost You Nothing,” “Is It Still Good to Ya,” “Found a Cure” and many more. Hits, Rarities & Remixes featured 23 tracks spanning 1973 to 1980, including an impressive amount of vintage disco mixes and newer, modern dance floor takes on their work.
